WiFi Spectrum Validation
The WiFi Spectrum validation step can be used to validate spectrum aspects of the channels being used by the currently associated WiFi signal.
Step Settings
General spectrum usage:
- Expect beacon in spectrum band(s): fail if beacon is not in the checked spectrum band(s)
- Expect channel width(s): fail if channel width is not in the checked width(s)
- Limit duration: if enabled, this step will run for the specified duration; otherwise - the step will continue execution until checklist completion
- Duration
Co-Channel Interference (CCI)/ Co-Channel Contention (CCC): counting signals also using the currently associated signal beacon channel as their primary channel beacon
- Warn if CCI/CCC is higher than
- Fail if CCI/CCC is higher than
- Absolute RSSI threshold for CCI/CCC counting: count only signals with minimal RSSI as specified
- Relative RSSI threshold is CCI/CCC counting: count only signals with minimal RSSI within at least X dB of the currently associated signal
Adjacent Channel Interference / Overlapping BSS: counting signals using the currently associated signal beacon channel not for their beacon (2.4GHz) or as their secondary channel (5GHz or 6GHz)
- Warn if ACI/OBSS is higher than
- Fail if ACI/OBSS is higher than
- Absolute RSSI threshold for ACI/OBSS counting: count only signals with minimal RSSI as specified
- Relative RSSI threshold is ACI/OBSS counting: count only signals with minimal RSSI within at least X dB of the currently associated signal
Channel utilization: using the highest channel utilization reported by any signal using the channel
- Warn if average channel utilization is higher than X
- Fail if average channel utilization is higher than X
