DNS Name Query RTT Validation Step

The DNS Name Query RTT step is used to validate the reachability of a DNS server over the connection using DNS UDP (port 53), as well as provide stats regarding success rates and round-trip times.

Step Settings

  • Use VPN network (when VPN is active): if enabled, will use the VPN connection (if one is active). Otherwise - will use the the underlying connection
  • DNS server: IP address or name
  • Host name to query about
  • Number of queries to attempt
  • Interval between queries
  • Warn if query success is below X %
  • Fail if query success is below X %
  • Warn if rtt min is above X ms
  • Fail if rtt min is above X ms
  • Warn if rtt median is above X ms
  • Fail if rtt median is above X ms
